iota values – about service

Service: A letter from Chen, our Marketing and Customer Relations Director

Hi, for those who don’t know me, my name is Chen Bogin. I am an industrial designer, I love plants, dogs, fashion and I always know the best places to eat in Tel Aviv. I was Tal Zur’s student at HIT and I joined the team of wonderful women at iota a few years ago as Marketing and Customer Relations Manager. Since then I live and breathe the brand in work and out. I believe in iota’s agenda and in the good that it tries to bring to the world.

We have said this before and I think it’s true and is growing stronger; iota is based mainly on meaningful and lasting relationships between us and those around us. Service is the last value that we are sharing with you in the series of values that lead our work, and I think it contains a little bit of every value we have shared.

It may sound like a cliché, but I worked for years in the restaurant industry and was brought up in one of the oldest culinary institutions in the city. The desire to help and accommodate a person in front of me is an inseparable part of me and is, in my opinion,  the essence of good service. Providing a service is not a simple thing and has its complexities. I have to find the right balance, and first and foremost know that there are people standing in front of me. I want to do the best I can for you, because that’s what we believe in, whether it’s a positive and pleasant shopping experience, repairing of the products or adding value by inspiration from worlds that interest us. We have a responsibility to you and are always passionate to hear and learn.

Our studio is always open, that is, between ten and five on weekdays and until two on Fridays, and I am always available on WhatsApp. The studio is in Jaffa, in an impressive and beautiful space from 1878 and we love hosting you. At the entrance door to the studio grows a crazy climbing plant, the Dutchman’s pipe, and people can’t help but stop by it.

I love meeting you whether at the studio or in your homes. I like to be a partner in deliberations and decision making. I love receiving the after pictures. To be a partner on the path to building a home that is pleasant for you to return to. I also like to be a partner in production and sale of fair trade products that are knitted by women. And sometimes, if none of our designs is exactly right for you or your project, I love to design customized products with you.

I feel that I sell products that have meaning, which are a kind of an invitation to our customers, architects, interior designers, to make a change. You, our clients, are the ones who have the real ability to make a difference. In my eyes, if each of us owned an item that was ethically made, environmentally  and socially, our world would be a little better.

Here in Israel, we are experiencing a complex time in which change is constant. Each of us has a way of maintaining sanity and hope, even though it is difficult. I hope for quiet days and that the value of life will again become the most important value in Israel. That we will have a little more patience to listen to and accommodate the other.

Looking forward to meeting you, Chen.
