STILL LIFE – Originating as an artistic installation for the Biennale for Arts and Design at MUZA and later presented at the Fresh Paint Art Fair, the Still Life collection is a series of figurative rugs that bridge traditional handcraft, art, and design innovation. The collection is defined by a unique, studio-developed knitting technique that allows for "painting with yarn" - translating complex graphic images and botanical motifs into rich, tactile textiles, mimicking the intricate mechanisms of Jacquard weaving. Though displayed originally as contemporary tapestries, these pieces are designed to transition seamlessly from wall art to functional, floor rugs. Each rug in the collection can be fully customized in size and color composition to fit the narrative of any specific architectural space.
WALL FLOWER – Driven by a curious exploration of how a rug defines spatial boundaries, the Wall Flower collection reinterprets the classic, historical anatomy of traditional Persian rugs. Historically built upon a fixed structure of a central field and a decorative border, this collection infuses a modern interpretation by assembling five distinct hand-knit panels. The segmentation references traditional knitting directions, intersection points, and classical proportions, deeply inspired by the layout of ancient Persian gardens divided symmetrically by pathways or water channels. Transforming the rug into an unfolded "garden plan" on the floor, this geometric division layout does not merely serve as an ornamental feature, but acts as a functional architectural tool designed to organize the surface, guide furniture arrangement, and command the flow of the entire room.
SIGNATURE RUGS - iota classic rugs are thick, soft, hand knit and luxurious, 3 times thicker than the standard rug. These rugs are 100% hand knit out of one continuous, soft, machine knit yarn developed and produced exclusively by us. This yarn has a gentle comfy touch and a present thickness that occupies the space. It is a contemporary interpretation of luxury textile. Our yarns are produced and designed from the highest quality cotton and polyester and our tassels, signature to every iota rug, are 100% shiny bright polyester. The yarn colors used in these rugs are complex combinations of different shades which create dominant colors.
LACE NO.8 RUGS - The 8-needle yarn developed by iota, is flat and minimal, offering a refined surface with a subtle, industrial feel. Unlike traditional crochet textures, this yarn is sleeker and understated. The rug structure is created with a simple stitch, repeated evenly to form broad, uninterrupted surfaces. The result is a textile that feels architectural, while preserving the warmth of handmade craft and textile tradition. This yarn can be crocheted in any size, and comes in a wide range of thoughtfully selected colors—some soft and earthy, others bold and vibrant.
OUTDOOR - The indoor-outdoor collection explores the aesthetics of nomads and wandering and is suitable for indoor spaces as well as for outdoor. The granny square motif featured in the outdoor rugs is one of the most iconic elements of crochet craft. Like building blocks, these squares can be crocheted in any size and assembled into larger surfaces. Historically, they were often made from leftover yarn and crafted anywhere, becoming a uniquely nomadic element. Our outdoor rugs reimagine these classic granny squares in a new, contemporary way. Each rug is composed of multiple squares assembled together to form one large rectangle, framed with a border. The modular design allows for customization by size and color, offering a rug designed specifically for your space.
